BKSA ROUND 3 – Leading the Tour

I’ve just returned home from round 3 of the British Kitesurfing Freestyle Tour, In Troon Scotland. Consisting of  9 and a half hours of driving, 3 days of sun shine and one afternoon of wind!

The Scottish windiest was on at the same time so it was a pretty big event with lots going on. I traveled up with Dave and Reece White who were also running the RRD Trade Stand which looking good with the latest windsurfing and kitesurfing products.

My first heat was against Sam Bull on Sunday afternoon when the wind eventually kicked in. It was cross offshore, gusty 12m weather but flat as you like. I managed to squeeze in a lowmobe, 313, back2blind-raily2blind-s2blind-front to wrapped all with hop outs. By the middle of the heat we were way downwind and pretty far out but it wasn’t too bad.

Won my first heat which put me straight in the final with Tommy Gaunt. Semi’s were John B vs. Sam Bull who I had just been against.

Standing British Weather. Wind died, so no final’s run!

Overal results with no final.

Equal 1st place = Dan Sweeney & Tommy Gaunt

Equal 3rd place = John B & Sam Bull

7th = Jack Daykin

That puts me well in front for the British Tittle – with 2 events left, so I hope to to better in RedCar next week and bring home 1st. Until then training hard and looking forward to it.
